Talking of the schedule, we identified a particularly difficult stretch for each club between now – the week of the NHL power ranking. end of the regular season.

How do we rank?A panel of ESPN analysts, reporters, commentators and editors rates the teams against each other, taking into account injuries, game results and the upcoming schedule. The results are then tabulated and produced this list.

Notice: The previous ranking of each team is based on the March 2nd edition. Points paces will be determined after Tuesday's games.

Attention: March 27-April 5, 2005. Five teams. 10 days. It doesn’t sound too daunting. It sounds easy, until you realize that Colorado faces Minnesota and Calgary on the road. San Jose welcomes Colorado and then takes on a home and home against Sidney CrosbyAnd the Penguins. There are potential teams and contenders. It's tough sledding.

Take Care: March 13-27. There will be no home cooking for two weeks (checks notes). If you have won more games in your barn than any other person this season. Amazing. The Panthers will face stiff competition on that stretch. Florida will travel west to San Jose, Anaheim, L.A. and Vegas before heading north to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.

Take Care: March 20-29. It's not ideal to see Tampa Bay twice in a short time. This is not ideal. Carolina faces a daunting task in coming up with new games every night. What's the stretch? The Rangers Lightning and Stars at Home, followed by Blues, Capitals and Lightning (again!) on the road. All playoff teams. All the time.

Take Care: April 4-14. The NHL playoff race remains tight at the time of writing. If this holds, Tampa will be in for a thrilling stretch through April. The Lightning kick it off at home against Atlantic Division rival Toronto. From there, they will continue to play with Washington, Boston Buffalo, Dallas, Anaheim and Dallas. The Sabres are not an easy opponent, and all should be fighting for their position or just to survive. Fun!

Attention: March 26-April 6,. There is nothing like another chapter of the Battle of Alberta to start a difficult run. The Flames host Edmonton and then move on to Colorado, Los Angeles, and St. Louis. They then travel down to SoCal for visits to the Kings and Ducks. This is a heavyweight schedule.

Beware: March 19-29. What team would like to play Tampa and Carolina back-toback on the road? Pure stress. After that, the Rangers fought through it and hit Tri-State rivals New Jersey on their way home. Then, they took two more tilts against Pittsburgh in five days. You can also find the fierce Sabres in there. Oof!

Attention: March 27-April 7, 2007. This block is longer than usual, but it is difficult to highlight for the Leafs. Florida twice. Boston, Tampa and Dallas are all there (all on-the-road). There was also Winnipeg and Philadelphia. It's been a difficult 12 days, which could significantly impact where Toronto finishes in the playoff picture.

Take care: March 29-April 9.. Send your positive vibes to Penguins right away. Their worst block begins against the Rangers and flows into road games at Wild and Avalanche. This is followed by another meeting between the Avs and Rangers and then ends against the rival Caps. It's the stuff of nightmares! It's also entertaining hockey.

Take care: March 10-22. The Blues are jumping right in here! To start, the fiery Rangers are in town. Then, St. Louis faces Central Division foes (Nashville/Winnipeg) and Metropolitan contenders(Pittsburgh/Columbus and Washington). It's good that they are getting through the toughest stretch early.

Take care: March 10-19. If San Jose keeps winning, there is a possibility it could reach the playoffs. Strangely, the Kings have three games in a single week against their (desperately) Pacific Division rivals. L.A. must also contend with Florida and Colorado, which are just below them in the standings. Get ready to get your feet wet.

Take care: March 15-24. This season, Dallas hasn’t been a great team on the road. Stars are down to 13 home games. This extended road trip, which begins in Toronto, will take them through Montreal, Washington, Washington, Carolina and include a home match against Edmonton. All teams are competing for postseason positions or serious pride.

Attention: April 19-29. The Bruins will sprint to the finish. Let's break it down. We will be dropping in on St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and back to Montreal to welcome the Rangers. Then, we will head to Toronto to wrap things up. This is a long 11-day stretch that will lead into the postseason.

Attention: March 17-24. While Vegas will be able to deal with many Pacific Division clubs later in its schedule, it will also have to deal with other difficult-to-handle opponents. Los Angeles and Florida enter the Fortress first. The Golden Knights then get back-to-back wins at Minnesota and Winnipeg. Nashville is just a few hours away. This was an extremely long stretch.

Attention: April 17-28. Nashville is currently on a postseason bubble. There's a storm coming. It would be wise to give yourself some breathing space for the next month. Six of the Predators’ final seven games will be against top-tier clubs. They'll cycle through St. Louis (on the roads), Calgary, Tampa (on a road), Minnesota and Calgary as well as a trip to Colorado. This is a difficult road to travel in a playoff push.

Attention: March 28-April 10, 2010. Washington has had a rough start to calendar 2022. The Capitals have a five-game schedule in April that includes games against Carolina, Minnesota Tampa, Boston, and Boston at home. Plus, a trip with the Penguins. This is a test of Washington's playoff readiness. No question.

Take care: April 2-12. The Wild's schedule is very fast-paced, to be fair. The early days of April can be difficult for a team that has been inconsistent away from home. Minnesota makes an East Coast trip through Washington and Carolina, stopping to visit division rivals Nashville, St. Louis and then returns home to face Los Angeles and Edmonton. Heavy travel, heavy competition.

Take Care: April 3-16. So. Much. Jockeying! Edmonton has made a comeback into the postseason picture. The first month of April could be the final straw, depending on how the Oilers do. It's an exciting trip through Anaheim San Jose and L.A. before heading to Nevada, Minnesota and Nashville. Many key points are up for grabs.

Attention: April 3-14. Anaheim has been gradually losing ground in the playoff race. Keep an eye on this schedule to see if Anaheim is still in the playoff race by April. The Ducks begin the Pacific against Edmonton and Calgary and then travel to Philadelphia, Carolina and Florida. Anaheim will be hosting some big hitters with a lot at stake.

Attention: March 23-30. Hope Vancouver has a steady supply of Central contenders. A four-game road swing through Colorado, Minnesota, Dallas, and St. Louis will test the Canucks' ability to climb the standings. The Canucks will also be facing another bout against the Blues. If that wasn't enough to stress Vancouver, there is a home-and–home match with Vegas. You have a fantastic opportunity to climb up the standings.

Beware: Apr. 15-24. The Jets believe that they can do some damage if they are able to make the playoffs. This feat has not been easy for the schedulemakers. It will finish its season in Winnipeg by playing four games on the road against Florida, Tampa, Texas, Carolina, and Colorado before returning home to Colorado. The Jets will be eligible for any postseason berth if they can finish that season with a positive record.

Attention: March 29-April 7. This is Columbus's most challenging run. It's also the longest. Six games, 10 night…only three opponents. Columbus has a triple set home-and-home against the Flyers and Bruins. Do you think this is an advantage? Disadvantage? We cannot wait to discover!

Beware: 31 March-Apr. 12. The Sharks have a full schedule. It's hard all around. This particular run takes you through Colorado and Dallas, Edmonton, Calgary Calgary, Vancouver, Vancouver and Nashville. It's especially difficult considering San Jose's efforts to climb the ranks. These points could be very valuable, but it will not be easy to secure them.

Beware: Apr. 14-21. An invigorating run through top-tier Eastern Conference team is the best way to get your juices flowing. After going toe totoe against Carolina, Florida, Tampa, and then Florida again, Detroit may be able confirm. The Red Wings' stable young, rising talent will find this a useful litmus test.

Take care: March 15-25, 26. This mid-March bump will be the Blackhawks' worst competition. Boston and Winnipeg visit town, while Chicago flys out to Minnesota and Anaheim, Los Angeles, Vegas, and Los Angeles. This could be a great way to have some fun nights of hockey, especially if you're a Blackhawks team trying to play spoiler.
