INDIANAPOLIS – The NFL combine at Lucas Oil Stadium will host on-field workouts Thursday. 2022 NFL draft.
NFL Network will be broadcasting live coverage every night of on-field drills starting at 4:05 p.m. ET. ESPN’s NFL Live will be broadcast from Indianapolis at 4 p.m. ET shows on Thursday and Friday, as well as a 2-p.m. ET show. ET Saturday on ABC.
The combine in Indianapolis will be used as a prelude to the NFL Draft in Las Vegas, April 28-30.
Let’s take a closer look at the information you need for Thursday.
The workouts will be held from 4-11 pm. ET (NFL Network): Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends will be tested for their ability to do a wide range of things, such as bench press, vertical jump and broad jump, and a 40-yard dash. There will also be shuttle and position drills.
…:Before they begin their on-field trainings, the offensive linemen and runningbacks will have to go through some medical exams. Thursday will also see Indianapolis’s first day of the four-day kickers and defensive backs cycle.
Record holders:The combine’s history has seen wide receivers record the fastest 40 times. The University of Washington wide receiver is expected to break no records this year. John Ross11 receptions were held by, New York GiantsThis past season, he ran a 4.22 40 yard dash at 2017 combine.
At the top:Liberty quarterback Malik WillisHe said Wednesday that he won’t run the 40 or take part in the other physical tests, but he will throw on Thursday. Mississippi’s Matt CorralThe right ankle injury sustained in the Jan. 2, Sugar Bowl, is not expected to be repaired. Kenny PickettHe stated that he had plans to do everything.
There is no way to help yourself:Pickett, Willis, and Corral are all considered to be among the best quarterbacks in the league. They will be able to show off their talents. Nevada is one of these players. Carson Strong, Cincinnati’s Desmond RidderWestern Kentucky’s Bailey Zappe are among those who can add a little to their résumés with a quality showing. Strong, who did not wear a brace for his knee at the Senior Bowl said that he wants to prove that his knee problems are not a problem.
Pickett spent a lot of time answering questions Wednesday about his hand size. He declined to be measured at Senior Bowl, but will be measured shortly before the workout on Thursday. Pickett will be the only quarterback to complete all the drills.
Don’t miss:While he doesn’t require any help to rise on the draft boards of most teams, he does need assistance as a wide receiver in Arkansas. Treylon BurksHe averaged over 16 yards per catch in his three seasons with the Razorbacks and said Wednesday that he will continue to practice all drills on Thursday. Burks said that he wants to be a good role model for his players. San Francisco 49ersLarge receiver Deebo SamuelIt’s safe for us to assume that personnel evaluators of the league will be impressed by Burks’ combination size, speed, and strength in a deeper group of receivers.
Willis will also throw so he is most likely to be the one to make the meme-worthy heave.
