As the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks Game 6 draws to a close, fans in packed Deer District are forced to flee through the streets.

Milwaukee Fire Department reported that one woman and one man were shot, and they were both taken to the hospital on Friday night. Another person drove there. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, a man aged 29 was taken into custody

Barry Baum, Milwaukee Bucks Chief Communications Officer, stated that the incident occurred outside of Deer District. He made this statement to ESPN. “All questions should be directed to the Milwaukee Police Department.”

During the team’s run for the NBA championship, Bucks fans started to pack into Deer District. Fans had the chance to win the Eastern Conference semifinal series against Celtics and Friday was a sunny day after a long winter. Even metal detectors were set up around the bars and the entrance to the arena.

However, the shooting was done outside this perimeter, just one block from Fiserv Forum.

Before the game, the Bucks announced that the Deer District had reached the official capacity of 11,000 people set for the watch party prior to Game 6.

Witnesses outside of the arena claimed that they heard gunshots less than a minute after Boston’s victory 108-95. This caused a lot of people to run in many directions, and sent them into an exacerbation.

After the game ended, a large police force was still present outside the arena. They also taped several intersections near the venue. The investigation continues.
