The Atlanta Braves designated infielder Robinson Cano After acquiring infielder, assignment for Monday Ehire Adrianza Trade with the Washington Nationals.
Adrianza, 32, had a batting average of.179 and seven RBIs in 31 games. Trey Harris, an outfielder for the Nationals, was traded to Adrianza. Harris played last season with the Braves and was a major league baseball leader with 16 pinch hits.
Cano, who was acquired in a deal with the Braves by the Braves, San Diego Padres Last month, Atlanta hit.154 in 27 plate appearances and nine games.
Cano, 39 years old, was hitting.333 with three homers and 20 RBIs in Triple A El Paso (the Padres’ Triple A affiliate). He struggled in the majors, hitting just.091 in 34 plate appearances in 12 games.
The New York Mets Cano was relieved in May after hitting just.150 with one home run and four RBIs in only 43 plate appearances. He missed the 2021 season while serving his second suspension for violating MLB’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Cano is currently batting.150, with one home run in 104 Major League plate appearances this year.

Harris, 26 years old, was hitting.238 this season with two home runs. He also had 16 RBIs for Double A Mississippi.
