Avalanche activate Nathan MacKinnon from injured reserve

The Colorado Avalanche have activated star middle Nathan MacKinnon off injured reserve forward of Saturday’s sport towards the Toronto Maple Leafs.

MacKinnon has not performed since Dec. 5 on account of an upper-body harm that pressured him out of a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. He was positioned on IR the next day.

The Avalanche mentioned on the time that MacKinnon would miss about 4 weeks.

MacKinnon, 27, has eight targets and 26 assists for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who’ve been maligned by a sequence of accidents this season. Colorado enters Saturday in fourth place within the Central Division with a 19-12-3 file.

A 3-time Hart Trophy finalist, MacKinnon agreed to an eight-year, $100.8 million extension earlier than the season. Within the salary-cap period, it was the NHL’s richest contract.
