The Colorado Avalanche have activated star middle Nathan MacKinnon off injured reserve forward of Saturday's sport towards the Toronto Maple Leafs.
MacKinnon has not performed since Dec. 5 on account of an upper-body harm that pressured him out of a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. He was positioned on IR the next day.
The Avalanche mentioned on the time that MacKinnon would miss about 4 weeks.
MacKinnon, 27, has eight targets and 26 assists for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who've been maligned by a sequence of accidents this season. Colorado enters Saturday in fourth place within the Central Division with a 19-12-3 file.
A 3-time Hart Trophy finalist, MacKinnon agreed to an eight-year, $100.8 million extension earlier than the season. Within the salary-cap period, it was the NHL's richest contract.
