The Canadian government requires a person to have received a second vaccine dose — or one dose of Johnson & Johnson — at least 14 days prior to entering the country.

According to Major League Baseball and the players’ organization, players who are placed on the restricted list for not being vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be paid and will not accumulate major league service.

Santander will lose $69 231 of his salary of $3.15 Million, while Akin will lose $15,953 from his $709,500 salary.

Stowers was in the lineup at left field and bat eighth against Blue Jays righthander Alek Manoah.

Garcia and Stowers had both been at Triple-A Norfolk where Stowers hit.253 with 12 runs and 34 RBIs in 49 games.

Manager Brandon Hyde stated that Stowers was “swinging the bat extremely well.” I love his athleticism, the way he plays defense and how he runs. It’s an excellent way for him get in the big leagues. I’m excited to see him play tonight.

Santander’s batting average is.238. He has 11 home runs and 33 RBI, a team record. In Sunday’s win over Kansas City, he homered.

Akin is a 1-1 reliever with a 2.61 ERA. In 38 innings, he has struck out 30 batters while walking 10.

The Orioles return to Toronto in August and September.
