Rams defensive tackle Aaron DonaldThe Rams will have two sacks and the Rams four.. Los Angeles's defensive line against the Bengals' offensive lines is the most obvious mismatch in this match. Bengals running back Joe MixonYou will be able to run more than 90 yards from the line of scrimmage, and score a touchdown. Six Super Bowl winners have had a running back after those numbers. Mixon has had a receiving for at least 15 yard in all six Super Bowls. His rushing totals have increased over the playoffs. Mixon led his team in yards at scrimmage (115), and he could be again the beneficiary in Sunday's big game, where the Bengals will need control over the pace to keep the Rams offense off the field. — Stephania Bell, NFL analyst

Bengals receiver Tee HigginsWill be the Super Bowl MVP. His catch rate is 53% and he averages 7.9 yards per target in man-to-man coverage. However, those numbers skyrocket to 72% and 10.8 yards per targets against Cover 2, Cover 3 or Cover 4. What is the significance of this? Los Angeles has only two defenses that have been in zone more frequently than Los Angeles. Higgins, who is a star in the making and has already had two major games during the playoffs, is being targeted as often as Chase. He is in position to play another. Mike Clay, NFL analyst

The matchup of the quarterbacks

Bengals - Super Bowl score predictions for Bengals, prop bets and matchup keys. Kickoff time, MVP picks, betting tips, and more.

Matthew StaffordRams

Stafford, 34, was a Detroit native for 12 years before he joined the Rams in a trade last offseason. He completed 67.2% on his passes for 4,886 yards, 41 touchdown passes and 441 yards in L.A. in Year 1. This makes him the third quarterback to win the Super Bowl with a team, joining Trent Dilfer (2000, 2020) and Tom Brady (2020). He could become the third player to win the Super Bowl with a team after at least 10 seasons. He was an excellent thrower vertically, with an average of 8.4 yards per attempt. 65 of his passes went for at minimum 20 yards. He was also prone to making mistakes. After Eli Manning tied, he was likely to join him as the Super Bowl's interception leader. Trevor LawrenceThis season, 17 ESPN

Burrow, 25, could be the first player to be drafted at No. He can be drafted No. 1 overall, win the Heisman Trophy, a national championship and a Super Bowl. And all this in three years. Jeremy Fowler, National NFL Writer: Chase. Chase. The Bengals are 6-1 when Chase runs for more than 100 yard this season. Chase will be the catalyst for the Bengals winning the Super Bowl.

Dan Graziano, national NFL writer: Burrow. Burrow. While the Rams front isn't going to make it easy for them, Burrow is able to play against L.A.’s secondary. Burrow's performance also helped Cincinnati win its first title.

Mina Kimes is an NFL analyst Kupp. Stafford would be the obvious pick if the Rams win. However, I could see Stafford throwing a few picks to keep the game close. Kupp, the triple-crown reciever, will put on a performance to win the award.

Jason Reid, The Undefeated senior author: Donald. Donald is one of three NFL players to have been named Defensive Player-of-the Year three times. He will cause havoc on the Bengals' interior offensive line and make life miserable for Burrow.

The game plan

I'm keeping my eye on Aaron Donald Von MillerThe Bengals have pass protection. Donald and Miller have matchup advantages due to the Rams' strong defense. Defensive coordinator Raheem Moor can use twists and tricks to get Burrow into the pocket, or scheme one-on-ones. To counter rushes, the Bengals can use their run game and first down play-action. We could also see more seven-man protection in dropback scenarios to keep Burrow clear. Los Angeles' front can create disruption and win at the edges, so Cincinnati will need to find answers. — Matt Bowen, NFL analyst

The Rams' left tackle, aged 40, is coming off an impressive season and will now be responsible for shutting down the Bengals defense end Trey HendricksonHendrickson is almost exclusively on the left side of the offense. Bengals X factor: Mike HiltonCB

Take into account Cooper KuppHilton is expected to be lined up alongside the star receiver the majority of the time. Hilton only lines up wide 31% of all the time when running a route. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Hilton should line up beside the star receiver the rest of the time. Hilton's closest defender numbers are mixed. He allowed more coverage snaps than average, but also kept opponents to the second lowest expected points. This includes postseason. Hilton will be marking a lot of people, so it's easy to believe that a lot depends on his play. — Walder

Under-the-radar impact player: Greg GainesDT, Rams

The Bengals will have to slow down the Rams pass rush, as has been often discussed. Donald and Miller are household names. Gaines, however, causes a lot of ruckus. He had his best pass-rusher year in this regular season. Keep an eye out. Field Yates, NFL analyst

Ernest Jones, ILB, Rams

Jones has been the player with the most snaps despite disappointing early returns from the Rams' 2021 draft group. The Super Bowl has been won by teams that have covered the spread. They have won every Super Bowl except last year, when the 3-point underdog Buccaneers won. The Super Bowl's history has shown that 27-26-2 is the favorite. Super Bowl underdogs who are at least 3 points ahead of the spread are 6-0 and 5-1 since 2007. At the start of the season, the Bengals were 125-1 to win Super Bowl. They were only the second team to be 100-1 or more to do so in the past 40 years (the 1999 St. Louis Rams were just 150-1).

What you need to know about officiating

It's reasonable to expect a minimal number of flags during this game. The Bengals and Rams had the third- and fourth-lowest number of penalties during regular season. Each team has been flagged 31 times during six postseason games. Referee Ron Torbert's regular season crew threw the fourth fewest flags (12.3 per match), while his mixed crew threw 10 flags during the divisional round game between the 49ers & Packers. But referees mostly have responsibility for offensive holding and roughing of passer flags. Torbert tied for fifth in terms of offensive holding flags (56) and fourth for the fourth-most roughing-the-passer flags (11). Kevin Seifert is a national NFL writer
