Carson Wentz passes COVID-19 Medical Check, to be a quarterback for Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson WentzHis medical check was passed Sunday morning. He will be starting against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Colts activated Wentz on Saturday from the reserve/COVID-19list by 4 p.m. He had to pass another hurdle before he could officially be cleared to face the Raiders. To play against Las Vegas, his COVID-19 symptoms must be “resolved, or improved” by Sunday morning according to the NFL policy.

Wentz, an unvaccinated player, was found to have COVID-19 earlier in the week. The NFL and NFLPA changed their protocols to comply with the CDC's guidelines this week. Players can still be removed from the COVID-19 waiting list for five days if they have not been symptomatic or if their symptoms are decreasing.

Wentz, his first season as a Colt, was the one who received an offseason deal with the Colts. Philadelphia EaglesIn 2021, he threw for 3,230 yards and had 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.

With a win over the Raiders, the Colts (9-6) could clinch a playoff slot. Indianapolis currently ranks fifth in the AFC playoff race.
