DeRozan has been having a great season, but his March performance was lower than the rest of the season. DeRozan had been scoring 25.8 points per 53.5% true shooting as of Thursday’s game. This is a 10 point drop from his February 34.2 points and 63% true shooting.
DeRozan became the sixth Bulls’ player to score 50 in a single game. This is the first time since LaVine achieved this feat in April 2021.
DeRozan also had one of the greatest individual scoring months in NBA history. There were nine 50-point games in March, as many as there were from October to February this season combined, according to research by ESPN Stats & Information.
Donovan declared, “That guy for our family is special.” He is a true genius. He is a great player. He was disturbed even by just the sight of him miss that free throw at the end regulation.
