Scotland A beat Chile seven times in Santiago. The tourists were warming up for Argentina’s Test series with a 45-5 win.

Damien Hoyland scored with the opening goal. George Horne added two more goals and Hoyland scored again before halftime.

Hoyland scored his third attempt in the first period, before Chile responded through Santiago Edwards.

Rufus McLean, Ali Price and others added a little more gloss to the Scottish victory.

Gregor Townsend’s Pumas side will play on the first three Saturdays of July.

After some mishandling errors, the tourists managed to get the opening try in just 11 minutes after a line-out.

The ball was moved to the right and OllieSmith offloaded it to Hoyland. Ross Thompson converted.

Captain Luke Crosbie saw a gap and was able to pass Horne a pass. Horne’s second attempt under the posts was successful, making it an easy conversion for Thompson.

Horne’s deceit at the back a ruck fooled the Chileans, as he skipped his third attempt to get through. Thompson then added more.

McLean believed he had gotten a fourth try, but Horne knocked play back for a scrum. Ben Muncaster couldn’t ground and was held up above the tryline.

A fourth attempt was made before the break, with Hoyland choosing a good line to accept Horne’s pass.

Salvador Lues intervened to prevent the hosts from giving up a fifth try in the second half. Scotland A continued its forceful approach.

Scott Cummings’ hilarious flick put Hoyland away to the right for his hat trick. Thompson failed to win the boot this time.

Chile tried hard to score but Rodrigo Fernandez, their skipper, made an error and lost touch.

Chile’s scoring was made possible by Benjamin Videla’s sprint towards the tryline. Edwards then got the ball recycled and was able to dive over.

McLean received on McLean’s left and outpaced everyone around him to touch down.

Chile’s fatigue was shown when Mark Bennett ducked and offloaded his fellow substitute Price, allowing him to continue unassisted. Blair Kinghorn was successful with his final kick after he missed the conversion.
