Chris Ashton, Leicester Tigers’ ex England winger signs new agreement with Premiership leaders

Chris Ashton, the Premiership’s leading try-scorer, has signed a new deal to join Leicester Tigers.

Six times he has made Premiership appearances with the table-topping Tigers.

His new contract has not yet been disclosed.

Ashton previously stated that he was grateful to be given a chance to continue his career with Tigers this year,His career was seemingly over when he quit Worcester Warriors in December.

Ashton has been a player for six Premiership clubs. He started at Northampton, in 2007, and then moved to Saracens, in 2012. There he helped Saracens win two titles. In 2017, he also played for Toulon.

Sale was his first return to the English game, and he spent last season with Harlequins. He then moved to Worcester in January 2021.

Steve Borthwick’s Tigers has negotiated a new deal, with Leicester already guaranteed a top-2 finish and a home semi final in the play offs.
