Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse WinkerA breakout season was being had at the plate by Darren Crisman, and he was put on Monday’s 10-day injured roster with an intercostal strain.
Reds manager David Bell said that Winker was examined by an MRI on Monday. The team didn’t believe the injury is a serious issue and doesn’t expect it to become a permanent one.

Winker has a career-best season this year with a.307 bat average, 24 home runs, and 71 RBIs. Winker is also the National League’s top hitter with 32 doubles. This record is a major accomplishment.
Reds infielder Jose Barrero was recalled from Triple-A Louisville to make a similar move.
