This three-game series will be the last between the two teams before New York faces Boston, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh. Tampa Bay holds the current top wild card spot.
Guardians-Twins: Sept. 9-11
The Twins, Guardians, and Twins traded spots in the AL Central. Although Cleveland has had an opportunity to pull away, Minnesota — and Chicago — have kept the race close. This series, which includes three games, is the first in a series of two between the teams to battle for the division title. The White Sox are currently included in the mix.
Mariners at Braves Sept. 9-11
Atlanta must win every game to maintain its No.1 ranking. The Mets hold the No. 1 spot in NL East. New York used to hold a strong lead but the Braves are now in the lead thanks to an incredible second half of the season. As they try to secure their first playoff spot since 2001, the Mariners are at the forefront of the AL wild card race.
September 9-11: Dodgers at Padres
The Dodgers are poised to secure their 10th consecutive postseason berth, and they look to claim their second World Series championship since 1988. Although the Padres may not be able to win the division from L.A. they are trying to retain their current sixth seed. It would mark only their second playoff appearance in six years. The three-game series is one of two that these NL West competitors will play this month.
