Clippers will not travel on trip with ‘frustrated’ Kawhi Leonard

LOS ANGELES — Kawhi Leonard He is still stiff in his right knee from surgery and won’t travel with him LA Clippers Their upcoming trip to Houston or San Antonio.

According to Clippers coach Ty Lue Leonard is feeling better but Leonard sat out Monday’s fourth consecutive game against the Rockets at Crypto.com Arena. When the Clippers get back from their trip, the forward will miss six consecutive contests. His status for Sunday’s match against Utah is unknown.

Lue declared, “He’s frustrated,” before tipoff against Rockets. “He wants to be up on the floors and then not be on the flooring, but now he can’t travel.” The doctor told him that he cannot travel right now because of his stiffness and the current state of his body.

Leonard was a part of two of the Clippers’ three opening games. He played 21 minutes each off the bench in each of those games. However, he felt stiffness in his right leg during the morning shootaround in Oklahoma City. He sat out that game and returned to Los Angeles for further treatment.

Leonard didn’t play the whole of last season after sustaining a torn right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Game 4 against Utah, June 14, 2021.

As they search for rhythm and continuity, the Clippers have lost four consecutive games. The Clippers also had to deal without Leonard.

John Wall Wall was on a minute limit, so Wall was forced to sit out Monday’s match. It was the second game of a back–to-back set. The Clippers also were without forward Robert Covington (Health and safety protocols). The Clippers will need to wait for Leonard’s return before they can play.
