Darrelle Revis is among the semi-finalist HOF 1st-year eligibility HOF

CANTON (Ohio) — Darrelle Revis, a four time All-Pro cornerback is one of five first year eligible players from the 28 current semifinalists in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2023 class.

Revis will be joined by offensive linemen Jahri and Joe Evans, Dwight Freeney, James Harrison and James Harrison as inductees next year. Each of them played in the 2017 season.

London Fletcher, Henry Ellard, and Henry Ellard are semifinalists. Albert Lewis, a 2013 semifinalist, is also on this list. Both Ellard, who was a semi-finalist in 2013, and Lewis, who was also a 1998 finalist, are now eligible as modern-era players.

Torry Holt makes her ninth appearance, Hines Ward is a semi-finalist for the seventh year, and Darren Woodson and Darren Woodson are semifinalists again for the seventh. Ronde Barber joins the list for the sixth consecutive time. Zach Thomas is fifth-timer. James Willis, Reggie Wayne and Reggie Wayne are back for the fourth time.

Jared Allen, Eric Allen, Willie Anderson and Devin Hester complete the list.

Before the January voting, the semifinalists will be reduced down to 15 finalists. The inductees of the NFL Honors awards will be announced Feb. 9, during which The Associated Press unveils the individual award winners for the 2022 NFL seasons, including Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Coach of the year (Coach).

Don Coryell is the coach category’s finalist, while Joe Klecko, Chuck Howley and Ken Riley are the seniors category’s finalists.
