Hackett is referring to this particular generation of Broncos’ players. Although it seems simple, it can be hard to teach and can be frustrating to learn. It requires patience, discipline, and, when the time is right, the unfailing determination of the running backs to get the job done. You can tell a defensive coordinator that if the offensive linemen, tight end, wide receivers, running backs, and runningbacks get it right, then it is successful.
“When dealing with the action in the outside zone, the [defensive] line not only has to step up to fit the run, but now they have to run sideline-to-sideline,” Hackett said. Hackett said that it’s almost like giving them a twofold area to cover. You can see the play pass when you add it in, regardless of whether you’re booting with. Linemen are instructed to fire the same direction as one another in an outside zone play. This is done in order to block the “most hazardous” defender from a specific area, rather than the defender directly in front of him. Hackett’s version will include all the elements from the Broncos’ glory days, as well as updates to the NFL’s passing game. All of this is wrapped around the play-action passing system with a mobile quarterback that must be accurate while on the move.

The biggest challenge for the Broncos’ offensive linesmen this offseason was working harder on the move. Hackett and Butch Barry, offensive line coach, stressed proper spacing for the move to keep defenders away from disrupting flow.
Larry Coyer was the Broncos’ former defensive coordinator. He worked with Shanahan seven seasons. All the hard work you put into the 40 plays before you are thrown out is gone.
The Broncos expected Williams to succeed on offense, and Gordon to play a significant part. However, when their minicamp concluded this week, Justin Outten, offensive coordinator, stated that a competition remains to select the five starting offensive linemen.
The play-action moves with Wilson and the big gains made by the backs of the crowd were impressive.
“Those are the things you want to do in order to always get that run. [defenders] Hackett stated that stepping up will get them thinking and guessing. “Then you have the chance to get those deep shots behind your team, which is what we love most.”
