Watson was also charged with criminal offenses by two women who didn’t file lawsuits against him. Another woman sued Watson on Oct. 13 alleging that he forced her to have oral sex in 2020 during a massage session.
Two Texas grand juries declined to bring criminal charges against Watson earlier in the year. Watson, who has always denied any wrongdoing, said that the public isn’t interested in his side of this story.
He hasn’t spoken out publicly since August when his suspension was announced.
Watson has been attending team meetings since Oct. 10. Watson also works out at the team’s facility. Watson was allowed to practice with Browns starting Nov. 16.
Chubb responded to a question about Watson’s appearance in practice: “He’s very special. He’s a playmaker.” He puts the ball exactly where it needs to go. This is what men like. Guys get excited.”
In March, the Browns traded Watson to them. The Texans received three draft picks in the first round. The richest NFL contract ever, Watson was signed by Cleveland to a five year deal with $230 million guaranteed.
Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett Watson was replaced by Dobbs during his suspension. On Monday, the Browns added Watson to their 53 man roster and waived quarterback Josh Dobbs.
