Source says Deshaun Watson’s hearing in the NFL will resume at least Wednesday

Deshaun WatsonThe hearing before the NFL and NFL Players Association’s jointly appointed disciplinary officer, Sue L. Robinson has ended for the day, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported Tuesday.

According to a source, the hearing will resume Wednesday. It could continue for even longer than that. 25 women have accused Watson of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior during massage sessions.

Graziano says that the NFL is likely to seek a suspension for at least one year.

After the judge ordered that the petition be amended with the plaintiffs’ name, one of the 25 lawsuits were dropped. Watson and 20 of other plaintiffs agreed earlier this month to settle the lawsuits.

Monday’s amendment to one of the civil lawsuits in progress was made to name it. Houston Texans as a defendant. Tony Buzbee, an attorney who once represented all 25 women, stated that “the overwhelming evidence indicating that Watson was enabled by the Houston Texans is incredibly damning.”

Two Texas grand juries declined to bring criminal charges against Watson in Texas earlier this year.

After the first grand jury declared it would not indict Watson, the Texans traded Watson for the Browns in March.
