DJ Chark Jr., former Jacksonville Jaguars WR, to sign a 1-year contract with the Detroit Lions

Former JaguarsLarge receiver DJ Chark Jr. Intents to sign a 1-year contract with the Detroit LionsAccording to a source, the information was shared with ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

According to a source, the deal is estimated to be worth $12 million.

Chark caught 147 passes to score 2,042 yards and 15 touchdowns over four seasons at Jacksonville. But Chark has missed 13 games with injuries, including nine in 2021 following a broken ankle in Week 4.

Chark, 25, caught seven passes for 154 yards and scored two touchdowns last season. He is now running on his ankle and is moving well.

AFC executive said that Chark has the potential to be great but that his fitness level and nuanced route-running aren’t as high as they should be.

Chark was unable to play on the field in his rookie season and was relegated to special teams. In 2019, Chark was selected for the Pro Bowl. He caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards, and eight touchdowns.

He continued that feat with 53 receptions for 706 yards in 2020 and five touchdowns.
