Eloy Jimenez, activated after 60-day IL, is back in the Chicago White Sox lineup

Eloy Jimenez Activated from the 60-day injury list and returned to the Chicago White Sox Wednesday, after being out for over two months with a hamstring strain, will be back in action.

Jimenez began in left-field and was batting sixth in the lineup during the afternoon finale of Chicago’s three-game series against The Cubs. Minnesota Twins. Jimenez, who had 31 home runs in his rookie season and then 14 more in only 55 games of the COVID-shortened 2020 seasons, has been plagued with injuries the past two seasons. He has appeared in just 66 games since the beginning of the 2021 season.

Jimenez, 25, slugged.222 and had one homer in 11 games for the White Sox. He was then injured in April by a hamstring strain. During his recent rehab stint at Triple A Charlotte, he batted.246 and had two homers in just 57 at-bats.

Jimenez’s return was announced by the White Sox amid a frenzy of roster moves prior to their game against first-place Twins.
