A rugby international from England was arrested for raping a teenage girl.
Reports of a sexual assault were reported to police shortly before 11 o’clock on Sunday 9th January.
A 41-year-old female was also taken into custody “on suspicion” of administering a substance with the intent to cause a sexual offense.
As “as inquiries continue”, both suspects were released on bail.
A spokesperson for police stated that they were called to investigate a report of a male sexual assault.
“An assault on a woman in her late teens was reported. Specialist officers are currently supporting her.
“A 41-year old woman was arrested for administering a drug with the intent to cause sexual offences and a man was arrested for rape.
“Both were later released on bail while enquiries continue. Detectives are currently following up on several lines of inquiry.”
