England wants Twickenham to “bouncing again”, so Jamie George, hooker, said that England would like to recreate the spirit and style of their free-scoring blitz with New Zealand.

“The atmosphere at that game’s end was incredible, it was some of my best rugby games,” said Mr. George on Rugby Union Weekly.

“We need to make people laugh on the field.

“We want to be in a position to do that for South Africa for 80 minutes and get Twickenham back on the ball.”

George will make his first start for the Autumn when England take on the Springboks. He believes a victory against the Springboks would bring an end to a patchy campaign which has included defeats by Argentina and victories over Japan.

Eddie Jones, England’s coach, challenged England to make Twickenham a “light-up” venue. Jonny May, the wingman for England said the side is gradually learning how to switch styles in an effort to win.

“I believe we have more clarity in who we are and what we want to be, since this time last year,” he said to BBC Radio 5 Live.

“We want to be adaptable, smart, and flexible. We still have all the traditional elements of English rugby but can play in a slightly different way.

“There are many variables. It is important to have a team that can understand the story and theme of the game, adapt to weather and injuries, and take part in the game.

“That is what we want to do and it is hard. The top 8-10 teams in the world are very close. I believe the all-round package will come from a team that can break free of this pack.

It is crucial to stay on top of your game when you face quality opponents. At times, we can lack big moments. It is vital. It is crucial.
