Ex-Jacksonville Jaguars, LB Myles Jack to join the Pittsburgh Steelers

Jack was released Wednesday by the Jaguars, one day after signing six players during the NFL’s first free-agency window.

Foye Ojoun was one such player, leading the NFL with 192 tackles last year.

Jack, who turns 27 in September, was Jaguars’ most prolific tackler last year with 108. In addition, Jack has recorded at least 107 tackles three times in the last four seasons.

He signed a 4-year, $57M extension. This included $33.06M guaranteed in September 2019, which made him the NFL’s third highest paid inside linebacker. After trading up two spots in 2016, the Jaguars drafted him 36th overall.

Jack’s right knee was a concern before the draft. Jack acknowledged to the New York Post that there could be degenerative issues but it wasn’t severe in his pre-draft story.

Jack has only missed nine of his six-year professional career. He has 513 tackles.
