Falcons sign Frank Darby and release Bryan Edwards

The Atlanta Falcons Wide receiver Bryan Edwards Thursday was less than one year since he was rescued from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Edwards, 24 years old, never found a role with Atlanta. He appeared in seven games and had three catches for 15 yards and five targets. Edwards was healthy for four games after Week 2. He did not play more than 15 snaps for Atlanta after Week 2.

After Edwards started the season as an Atlanta starting receiver and played 47 percent of the snaps against the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints.

Atlanta signed receiver Frank DarbyEdwards’ sixth-round draft pick in 2021 will be replaced on the roster by. Darby was summoned twice from the practice team earlier this season, but he has yet to catch a pass or be targeted. However, Darby plays an important role in Atlanta’s special teams. Edwards was not there.

In the 2020 draft, the Raiders selected Edwards at third round. He was 6-foot-3. Edwards was traded by the Falcons for a 2023 fifth round pick.

Atlanta also signed receivers Emeka Emezie Lineman offensive Parker Ferguson To the practice squad. Emezie has not played in a regular-season match yet.
