Fantasy football NFL 2022 Week 12: Garrett Wilson shines

Week 12 of 2022’s fantasy football season featured Garrett Wilson Mike White The New York Jets Coming up big against the Chicago Bears. What other developments were worth your attention this week? Tristan H. Cockcroft, Matt Bowen, and Tristan H. Cockcroft provide their analysis.

With 26.4 points per year a 31-10 win Wilson now has 17.5 or more points per game (over the Bears) in his last four games. The arrow may be pointing up to the rookie receiver, if Mike White can keep him playing with consistent quarterbacks in New York. Wilson caught five passes for 95 yards and added two touchdowns on Sunday. He has a dynamic ability that is evident after the catch. He can move quickly in space. The Jets can also open him up. Flood concepts, leveled throws to the middle of field, and more. Wilson will be the Vikings’ defensive player in Week 13. In my rankings, he’ll be a upside WR3 for that one. — Bowen

White, who was drafted in 2.5% of ESPN leagues and dropped 24.8 fantasy points against the Bears’ defense, could be one the best waiver/streaming picks. There were some players missing from the Chicago secondary. There was still some talent in the JV today. That’s not a top-tier defense, we know. However, the Jets are lacking a functional pass game. Zach Wilson White, a New York quarterback upgrade, is a valuable addition to a team that boasts talent and explosive ability at the route tree. White also performed well in this one. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 315 yards, with three touchdown throws. White was a master of the scheme, delivered the ball with anticipation and worked the Bears defense at all levels. White should remain the No.1 quarterback in New York with these numbers. What’s next for White? Over the next two weeks, road games will be played at Buffalo and Minnesota. — Bowen

White’s 26.10 fantasy-point performance in Week 8 was an impressive feat. He then suffered a forearm injury that forced him to miss the first quarter of the following game. It is really This level has given him little opportunity to shine. Now, he has a pair 24+-point performances in four career starts. He also has a mostly fantasy-friendly schedule (@[email protected]. @SEA.MIA). So I’m with Matt — he’s worth streaming/superflex purposes. — Cockcroft

Lawrence crossed the 20-point line for the second time in a row, scoring 24.94 points during the Ravens’ Week 12 victory. Lawrence was very decisive in this one. He led a drill lasting two minutes to score, and then hit a quick 2-point attempt to win the game. These are some big throws. Lawrence can be a QB1 in this lineup with a positive matchup against the Lions in Week 13. — Bowen

Other observations

Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Washington Commanders: Consider Week 12 his sneaky-big step forward. The rookie played 50% of Commanders’ offensive snaps. Antonio GibsonGibson had 12 touches, while Robinson received 20 touches. He also ran three runs of more than 10 yards. The latter two were less than the total he gained in his first seven NFL starts (five). Robinson added 14-yard and 8-yard receptions as he made big plays that should earn him more opportunities to play in the offense. He is a powerful back, who, despite being fantasy touchdown dependent, has the strength and endurance to provide those most weeks, as well as potentially becoming a weekly RB2. — Cockcroft

Zay Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: Jones was a key player in the Jaguars’ victory over the Ravens. He scored a career high 27.5 fantasy PPR points and also caught the decisive 2-point conversion. Trevor Lawrence has been giving Jones more attention, and Jones has now had back-to-back double-digit targets in four of his last seven games. This is after only three double-digit targets in 79 career games. It’s been a blessing that the Jaguars still have a fantasy-friendly schedule for wide receivers (@DET and @TEN, DAL), @NYJ, @HOU and TEN). Jones should be rostered everywhere, and should start as a wide receiver for most of them. — Cockcroft

Samaje Perine, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Helping the injured Joe Mixon (concussion), Perine accounted for 19.3 fantasy PPR points. This is a better number when you consider the Titans’ eighth-toughest schedule adjusted defense against runningbacks. Perine was again the star receiver, catching four of seven passes for 35 yards. Perine should continue to be a midrange RB2 if he is called upon to replace Mixon in Week 13. — Cockcroft

Eric Karabell explains how Samaje Perine’s Week-12 performance could be useful for fantasy managers in the event that Joe Mixon is not available.

Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: With Leonard Fournette White was injured and posted a season high 19.9 PPR points during the Browns’ Week 12 loss. The rookie showed us his dual-threat qualities. White was able to log nine receptions, for a total of 45 yards. He also ran 64 yards on 14 carries. White will be considered for the RB2 debate if Fournette cannot play Week 13 against the Saints. — Bowen

Dameon Pierce, RB, Houston Texans: Pierce has now rushed for just eight yards (on five carries) in Week 12, Miami’s loss. He has rushed for only 16 yards on 15 total runs in his two previous games. This Houston offense is terrible, regardless of which quarterback is in the lineup. Pierce’s volume is still being affected by the poor game flow. Pierce has a favorable matchup against the Browns subpar rush defense in Week 13, but he’ll still be in my RB2 ranks due to the Texans inability establish an offensive rhythm or tempo. — Bowen
