France’s Antoine Dupont takes home the Six Nations Player Award

France captain Antoine Dupont was named Six Nations’ player-of-the-championship after leading his team to a first Grand Slam for 12 years.

The scrum-half at 25 years old won a fan vote ahead of team-mate Gregory Alldritt, and Ireland flanker Josh van der Flier.

Dupont said, “It is always a pleasure to receive prizes. But it’s difficult since it’s a team sport.”

“I truly want to thank all my team-mates.”

Dupont. was named World Player of the Year in December,The award was also awarded in 2020.

He is now the third player to win it multiple times, following Brian O’Driscoll, Ireland’s legendary captain, and Stuart Hogg, Scotland’s captain.

Dupont is one 11 France players on the team of this tournament, as voted by Twitter users.

Maro Itoje, England’s second row, and the trio from Ireland Van der Flier and Tadhg Furlong were the only non French inclusions. Hugo Keenan was also included.
