Friday Fantasy Hockey Tips – NHL matchups and picks

Friday’s light slate can be considered an appetizer before Saturday’s main course, which will include 13 games. These three match-ups, all beautifully staggered, feature the second half a home and home between Senators and Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Then, there’s a second and final meeting between Islanders and Predators. We can expect a lively match between the two teams at UBS Arena after Nashville’s win in November 5-4. The action ends with the Blue Jackets, who are not very good on the road, visiting the Jets. Winnipeg is currently 8-2-0 at-home, riding a three game win streak.

Favorable scoring matchups

8 p.m., Canada Life Centre, Watch live on ESPN+

The Jets are scoring in large numbers. The Blue Jackets allow a league-worst 4.21 goals/game, since Oct. 25. All other things being equal, this contest is cushioned with off days on Thursday & Saturday for both teams – I like Kyle Connor and Co., which includes defenseman Josh MorrisseyIt is my intention to throw a few past Columbus-starters. Joonas Korpisalo Or a newly activated Elvis Merzlikins (Who hasn’t competed since November 15).

Fantasy forwards in the middle-tier

Blake Wheeler, Winnipeg Jets (Rostered at 66.1% in ESPN.com leagues). After Tuesday’s win against the Avalanche, the Jets’ former captain is back at his best. Wheeler is Winnipeg’s top scorer. Mark ScheifeleAnd rookie Cole Perfetti The club’s highest-performing production is (11.1%) right now.

Forwards for Deep League/Daily Fantasy

Colton Sissons, Nashville Predators (0.6%): The streaky forward was beaten Ilya Sorokin and the Islanders in Nashville at their last meeting two weeks ago. Also last night in New Jersey The Ducks on Tuesday the previous Tuesday. Sissons seems to be in a productive groove and is centered on a scoring line. Tanner Jeannot And either Matt Duchene Oder Filip Forsberg. He’s my favorite off radar fantasy asset, which I’ve been able to pull from Fridays limited schedule.

Fantasy defensemen in the mid-tier

Vladislav GavrikovColumbus Blue Jackets (50.0%): Gavrikov plays a lot and blocks a lot of shots. Night in, night out, he is playing a lot. Blue Jackets top-pair defender Gavrikov is projected to share a large portion of ice time with Patrik LaineThe healthy return of Corey, who is scheduled to face his former team on Friday.

Defensemen of Deep League/Daily Fantasy Value

Ryan Lindgren, New York Rangers (3.4%): So Rangers defender is now a playmaker, I think. It’s working out well for the club. Lindgren was the primary assister on all three New York goals in Wednesday’s win over Ottawa, 3-1. In his four previous contests, he also received three more helpers. Fantasy managers should take advantage of this opportunity as long as the 24-yearold is still in a productive state. You will receive at most a block shot or two from him, probably along with a couple of hits and shots in net.

Goalies

Jaroslav Halak (possible), New York Rangers (1.6%): Gerard Gallant is my Rangers backup. He stopped 34 of 35 shots and earned win No. 1 of 2022-23 against the exact same Senators just two days ago. Next Play Igor Shesterkin Saturday’s game against the visiting Blackhawks. If this is how it turns out, managers might consider streaming Halak or using him as a Daily Fantasy asset. Wednesday’s confident performance on Wednesday was so convincing. But I’m Not The New York Rangers head coach. Before making any move, ensure Halak is actually starting.

Bench ’em

Kevin Lankinen (projected), Nashville Predators (2.0%): No. 1 Juuse Saros The Predators have been very successful lately, with a 7-1-1 record and a.918SV% and 2.69 GAA since Nov. 5. But, following Thursday’s impressive OT victory in New Jersey, backup Kevin Lankinen is likely to start against the well-rested Islanders – a team with an 8-3-0 home record. Lankinen, as far outlying Daily Fantasy resources go, isn’t my favourite on this eve.
