Joe Schoen, New York Giants’ General Manager, said that there was a lot to evaluate as they opened camp with a’revamped’ roster

EAST RUTHERFORD N.J. — We still have a lot of work to do. New York Giants To be a contender team again. Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll, the general manager, are beginning from scratch.

In a way they are overseeing the massive project.

“I believe we know where we are at. There are times when there is no need. [Schoen] Daboll replied, “Hey! We’re in Year 1″ or vice versa.” It happens a lot with me and my offensive staff. Particularly those who came from Buffalo. Sometimes I feel like my mind is racing and I’m doing everything and moving and shifting and doing so many different things. They had to remind me that this is Year 1 and not Year 5.

“We are just beginning to crawl. Although we are making some progress, there is still much to be done.

New York just finished a disappointing 4-13 season, in which it averaged 15.2 points per match. It was then that coach Joe Judge was fired and the general manager Dave Gettleman was fired. To fill their shoes, Schoen and Daboll were hired.

Over the last five seasons, the combined total of the Giants’ previous three administrations was 22-59. It is tied with New York Jets This is the NFL’s worst record over this span.

Enter Daboll, Schoen, and who had been in Buffalo the four previous years as the Buffalo Governor. Bills they were built into Super Bowl-caliber teams. Schoen was the assistant general manager under Brandon Beane, and Daboll was the offensive coordinator.

It’s now up to them to make this franchise once-proud, with this year’s training camp being an integral part of that process.

Schoen stated that there is a lot of evaluating ahead. “We haven’t had to be in pads.” [with this team]. The continuity part is still being learned by some men. [Quarterback] Daniel [Jones] These receivers have not been thrown to yet. We have just signed four new players [Tuesday] So there are many moving parts at the moment. This is what training camp’s all about.

Jones is the first to be evaluated. He is in his final year under his rookie agreement after the new regime dropped a fifth-year option from his contract earlier this season. Jones is vying for his future in New York.

The Giants will continue to work with Jones throughout the summer. Jones spent the spring working with wide receivers Kenny Golladay (leg), Kadarius Toney (knee). Sterling Shepard (Achilles) is on the sidelines because of injuries.

Toney caught a pass in the Giants training camp’s first play of drills on Wednesday. He then leapt over the cornerback to make a touchdown catch. Aaron Robinson Daboll, an energetic athlete, ran from the line of Scrimmage to the end zone and joined the celebration.

It’s a step in the right direction for this offense, which has suffered so much in recent years. Jones is also pleased with this step. He has something to show to the new regime, and a contract to prove it.

Jones stated that Jones’s focus is to win games and prepare as much as possible. It’s all that I can concentrate on, and it will bring me the best results. This is my mentality. If I do these things, everything else will fall into place.”

His offensive line will be his biggest helper. Jones will likely have three new linemen. No cost agents Mark Glowinski At right guard and Jon Feliciano at the center and seventh overall Evan Neal The right approach.

They were part Schoen and Daboll, giving the team a new look in this offseason. It is likely that there will be some growing pains. They seem to anticipate it as an inevitable outcome.

This is the process known as rebuilding. Or re-designing. It can be called whatever they wish.

Schoen stated, “Again, I would consider a revamped roster based on some of our players we’ve brought into the fold and some of those we had to let go of for different reasons.” “There are many things that we need to assess in the spring. However, it’s possible to get a good feel for some of them.” [Daboll’s] Point: How will we respond to adversity How can we achieve success? Each year, the team is unique. They have a different identity. These are the things we look forward too, and we will be evaluating them to find out what the next month is going to bring.

And for years.
