Racing 92 was able to break the resistance of Sale Sharks in two instances of outstanding footballing skill, setting up a Champions Cup semi final with La Rochelle.
After Manu Tuilagi was unopposed, Sale led at the intermission. Racing however gained momentum after the break.
Teddy Thomas scored his first try with his kick, before Finn Russell delivered the second spectacularly.
Although Akker van der Merwe was able to reduce the deficit, Juan Imhoff and Max Spring were able to score either side of Ben Curry’s consolation.
