For more than a decade, he was the Rangers’ face and one of New York City’s most beloved athletes. Lundqvist, who was selected by the Rangers seventh round in 2000 and made the move from Sweden to NHL in 2005-06.

Lundqvist retired with an NHL record 459-310-96, in 887 NHL career games. He had a save percentage that was.918, and a 2.43 goals against average. There were 64 shutouts. In all of those categories, he is the Rangers’ franchise leader.

Lundqvist stated, “I am extremely thankful for the hockey that has brought me joy and taught me a lot in my life,” I will always remember these lessons. I am grateful to the players and coaches who supported me during my entire career.
