After arriving in Australia for the three-Test Tour of England, Jonny May tested positive for Covid.
After reporting symptoms on Friday morning, the England Wing returned a positive result and will now spend seven consecutive days in self-isolation according to Australian government regulations.
May, 32, may still be available for Saturday’s opening Test in Perth against the Wallabies on July 2nd.
The England squad did not return any other positive results.
“Potentially (he’ll) be available next week to train, so that we can have a glance to see his like,” Eddie Jones, head coach said. Jones was referring to May’s availability for series opener.
“He’s an experienced player and he showed the Barbarians in his first game that he isn’t getting enough game time, and that he has his best rugby ahead.
“We will just keep an eye on his situation and make a closer assessment of the day when he leaves.”

He has 35 tries and is England’s second highest try scorer, after Rory Underwood.
The Wallabies will play their opening match, followed by fixtures at Brisbane on 9 July, and Sydney one week later.
