Lamar Jackson of Baltimore Ravens says there is still racial bias in NFL against Black quarterbacks

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar JacksonHe said that he still has a lot to prove as a Black quarterback in NFL.

Jackson spoke out about the topic during an appearance on LeBron’s YouTube interview show, “The Shop,” which premiered Friday.

James responded to the historical bias against Black quarterbacks when the conversation turned to James.

Jackson replied, “It’s still here. That’s why I need the championship.”

James discussed how he felt disrespected by not being included during discussions about the greatest NBA scorers. Jackson can relate to it because he was told by critics that he was not a true quarterback.

It was mentioned that Jackson, a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, was asked to run wide receiver drills during the NFL Scouting Combine four years ago. Jackson shrugged off a questioner who asked him why.

Jackson became the fourth Black NFL Most Valuable Player winner in 2018. Jackson is currently 37-12 and 1-3 in postseason.

Jackson replied, “Everything. Being a champion. If I had to choose, that’s what I would take from him. Being a champion is a great thing. Being a billionaire. This is what I’ve always thought about since I was little, being a millionaire and being a champion.
