James scored his 13th point in the first half on a free throw with 52 seconds left in the second quarter. This gave him 396 career points, surpassing Bryant’s 395. In Saturday’s game, James finished with 39 points. 122-115Loss to the visiting Brooklyn Nets.
Nets forward Kevin DurantWith 299 points, he is fifth in the list.
James, who was playing Christmas for the 15th consecutive year, arrived with his name inscribed all over the Christmas Day books. He began the day tied for 1st in 3-pointers made, and tied for 1st in total wins. He was also second in total assists, second overall in games played and third in field goals made. He tied for fourth in total steals and fourth in free throws. He tied for ninth in total blocks and tenth in total rebound.
James was also able to score his second of three 3-pointers during the fourth quarter. Kareem Abdul-JabbarFor the most points scored in a single day in NBA history. Abdul-Jabbar scored 413 points Dec. 26, but James finished Christmas Day with 422.
James would also be moving one record on Christmas, because Saturday’s contest marked his 13th consecutive contest in which he scored 20 or more points. Bryant, Durant, and Oscar Robertson are tied at second with 10 games.
