Steve Borthwick, Leicester Tigers’ head coach, has supported his team’s strength and depth to see them through the Six Nations tournament.

Six Tigers players are included in the England squad. The first game away from Scotland is on 5 February.

The Six Nations runs until March 19th, and Leicester has seven league and cup matches during that time.

Borthwick said that competition is important for your team’s places, BBC Radio Leicester.

“But, you want competition and collaboration. Everyone working in one direction. And you want depth. There are always multiple factors, including injury and international call-ups. It’s difficult to predict.

Leicester is currently leading the Premiership with eight points. They have won 11 out of 12 games and have 100% records in both the European Champions Cup, (P4 W4), and Premiership Rugby Cup.

In England coach Eddie Jones’s naming of Ellis Genge, Joe Heyes and Ollie Chessum were also included. initial Six Nations squadGeorge Ford, fly-half of the Premiership, was the Premiership’s leading point scorer with 148. added to replace injured Owen Farrell.

On Sunday, Leicester take on Sale. Four more league matches will follow in February. Three of these games will be at home.

Borthwick stated, “We have seen extraordinary growth in some young players, and we are delighted for them.”

“You need to plan as effectively as possible with the information that you have, and within the constraints of your salary cap.

“We have had to work hard in order to bring players through. We’ve had the need to recruit externally. We’ve had young players who were exposed early in their career which has been fantastic.

“This is the situation that we found ourselves in, and we deal with it as best we can.”
