Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams He has signed a $25.2 million, two-year contract extension with the team, according to Darren Matsubara, Wasserman’s agent. The deal will keep him in the franchise through the 2024-2025 season.
Adams, who is 29 years old, was entering his final year of the contract. Adams now has a three-year, $43.1 million contract with Grizzlies to help them take the next step in their quest to be in the championship race.
Matsubara stated that Adams was eager to negotiate a contract extension and believed in his chance to win a title with the Grizzlies.
Adams is highly valued by the Grizzlies on many levels. He has a positive impact on a mature roster, and he was an on-court presence that led both the NBA’s offensive rebounding percentage (and offensive rebounds per match) a season ago.
Adams was an integral part of Memphis’s success in second chance points last year. According to ESPN Stats and Information, Adams ranked fifth in screen assists per NBA game.
Adams finished his first full season as a Grizzlies player, achieving career highs in assists (3.4) and rebounds (10).
