Milwaukee Brewers placed starter Aaron Ashby in IL due to left shoulder inflammation

LOS ANGELES — Milwaukee Brewers The pitcher Aaron Ashby Left shoulder inflammation caused him to be placed on the injured roster Monday. He will miss the start against the Toronto Raptors. Los Angeles Dodgers.

Manager Craig Counsell stated that Ashby played catch on Sunday and didn’t feel well. The left-hander was able to return to Milwaukee to visit a doctor, but he did not get an MRI.

Counsell stated, “It’s not major but it was everywhere he was experiencing discomfort throwing,” “Now it is the normal process of getting him symptom-free.”

Ashby was scheduled to begin Wednesday’s series finale against Los Angeles Dodgers.

He is now 2-10 with a 4.58 ERA and 116 strikeouts this season in 96 1/3 innings.

During his first full season with the majors, Ashby was inconsistent and difficult to command. He also had an IL stint with forearm inflammation in June.

Counsell stated that nothing Counsell has experienced is unusual for a young pitcher who’s still trying to adjust to his role as a starter.

“All of it is a learning experience. “We’ve been through a few minor things, but it’s nothing alarming,” said the manager. “We need to keep getting stronger. That’s how we can get through these and build our endurance.”

Last month, the 24-year old left-hander signed a $50.5 million five-year contract. It will begin in 2023. If a pair are taken, it would be worth $41.5million over seven seasons.

Ashby, who made his major-league debut in June of last year, is currently on a $704,000.500 salary.
