Minnesota Vikings hire Demitrius Wash as Vice President of Football Operations

EAGAN (Minnesota) — The Minnesota VikingsTheir shift to an analytics-driven front line continued Monday with the hiring of Demitrius Washington to the newly created vice president of football operations.

Washington was employed for seven seasons during the San Francisco 49ersHe was the head of the research and development division, spending five years with current Vikings general manger Kwesi Adofo–Mensah. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Analytics from the University of Missouri.

He was responsible for optimizing the 49ers' process and developing statistical analysis to aid in player evaluation, acquisition, and strategy.

He is able to take complex ideas and simplify them, then apply them in every aspect of the company. He has learned from the most brilliant minds in the game and will continue to thrive in his role as Vikings' coach.

Adofo-Mensah is a master's and bachelor's in economics. Before joining the 49ers, he started his career as a commodities trader. He was able to make six trades with the league during the 2022 NFL Draft, two of which were with division rivals. This is an early indication of the analytics process that he is implementing in Minnesota.
