Simon Zebo was the star of Munster’s win at Thomond Park, where Munster won a bonus-point United Rugby Championship victory over Edinburgh.
The Irish province took a 20-10 lead after Zebo and Fineen Wycherley converted tries.
Zebo’s second goal helped the hosts to reach 14 before Henry Pyrgos crossed the line at 69 for renewed hope.
However, Zebo’s third hit on 76 ensured the outcome as Munster rebounded from Glasgow’s defeat last week.
Ben Healy, Fly-half, kicked 14 points. Wycherley converted a Craig Casey pass and took control of the game after 10 minutes.
Healy converted Chris Cloete’s second turnover penalty into three points. Edinburgh responded in the 23rd minute with Ramiro Moyano crossing after excellent work by Blair Kinghorn, captain of Scotland and Mark Bennett.
Munster, however, regained the lead before half-time thanks to Zebo. The 31-year-old wing added his second score, and the Irish side was 18-10 ahead. Edinburgh lost Bennett due to injury.
Wycherley was looking for visitors to respond and then Dave Kilcoyne made a line-out. On his 200th Munster appearance Dave Kilcoyne forced Boan Venter to knock-on.
Even though Pyrgos had just a little over 10 minutes to go, Edinburgh’s replacement Pyrgos made it through. Zebo ended a stellar display with his third to grab Munster’s bonus goal.
