New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore was sentenced to probation for pleading guilty to misdemeanor. The felony gun cost was dismissed

METAIRIE, La. — New Orleans Saintscornerback Marshon LattimoreAfter a felony gun charge was dropped, he was sentenced last week to one year probation. His legal representative confirmed that he had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor expense as a substitute.

Lattimore was taken into custody in March by his hometown of Cleveland. He was initially charged with a fourth degree felony for having a loaded gun that was suspected to have been stolen. The charges were dropped however. Marcus Sidoti (Lattimore's lawyer) stated that he did not know the gun had been stolen.

Lattimore was also charged with the misdemeanor charge of not advising officers when he saw him carrying a hid gun while he was in a vehicle that was stopped because of a number visitors violation. Lattimore had an allow to possess a concealed weapon. However video of the arrest revealed that Lattimore didn’t immediately tell officers that he was carrying the gun until they requested.

It is not clear if Lattimore will be subject to any discipline from the NFL. Brian McCarthy, League spokesperson, said that the league will continue to monitor all developments which are relevant to the matter.

Lattimore was ordered to pay $1,000 extra, Cuyahoga County Court docket information available. Lattimore does not have to search in particular person for probation supervision.

Lattimore (25), is a three time Professional Bowler and was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie Of The 12 Months 2017. He was drafted with the 11th general select from Ohio State. He signed a five-year extension for between $97.6m and $100m in Week 1. This makes him one the most highly-paid cornerbacks of the league. For Week 5, he was named NFC's Defensive Player of the Week.
