New York Rangers strengthened future prospects with a four year agreement with Igor Shesterkin to be their goaltender.

Rangers general manager Chris DruryThe agreement was not disclosed and it was officially announced Monday. According to New York Post, the contract is worth an average $5.6 million annually.

Shesterkin (25 years old) played in 35 games last season for the Rangers during their 16-14-3 campaign. Shesterkin was a netminder with a 2.62 goal against record and an impressive 9.16 percent save percentage. Moscow’s native had two shutouts. Moscow native played parts of 47 NHL season games and had a 26-16-3 record.
