The following are the Vegas Golden KnightsLast night's elimination from playoff contention meant that the 16-team field of the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs has been established. Now we have to wait and see which teams are able to make it into which seeding slots.
Eight teams are currently in position:
The Avalanche and Panthers are still at the top of the standings, and they continue to fight for the Presidents Trophy and No. The postseason's No. 1 seed. Both teams have two games remaining; Colorado is two behind, but has an advantage of 46-41 in regulation wins.
The Atlantic is home to the Tampa Bay LightningThe lead is three points over the Boston BruinsThe No. 3 seed. The loser in that battle earns the No. 1 wild card, and a series against Canes. Both teams have 2 games remaining, while Boston holds an advantage of 1 in RW.
The race to No. The race for No. 3 in the Metro is even closer: Pittsburgh PenguinsYou have a one-point edge and a one-RW advantage over the Washington CapitalsThe Caps still have a game in their hands. The winner of these two games gets the Rangers; the loser the Panthers.
In the Central Division, there are two races. Two races are going on in the Central Division. Minnesota WildAnd St. Louis BluesBoth have 109 points in their battle for home-ice edge in round one. Blues hold a 43 to 36 advantage in RW but Wild have a game in front. The Western wild cards for both Western players are expected to arrive from this division. To determine the order in which the teams finish in the first round of the NHL draft lottery, the No. 1 selection is not guaranteed to the last-place team. 1 selection. If a team wins the lottery, it can move up to a maximum of 10 places. This means that only 11 teams will be eligible for the draw for the No. 1 pick. Full details on the process can be found here. If Chicago doesn't win the 2022 draft lottery, Columbus will be Chicago's first round pick. The pick will be deferred to 2023 if Chicago does not win either of the two draws in the 2022 draft lottery.
