After a heartbreaking loss of 2-1 to the team, his stick-swinging tirade continued a day later St. Louis Blues, Dallas StarsNHL fined Rick Bowness $25,000 for his actions.
Bowness grabbed an object and angrily slashed the bench twice. After watching the Blues rally to two power-play goals at the end of regulation, while also enjoying the benefit from some questionable officiating Sunday, Bowness was angry.
Bowness’ fine money will be paid to NHL Foundation, provided that he does not appeal the decision.

His players agreed.
“Coach stated after the game that this was almost a perfect game for us on the road,” Stars forward Jason Robertson said. “We had lots of chances. We tried our best to limit their chances. It’s only hockey at the conclusion of the game. This was a great opportunity to continue to improve our road team.
O’Reilly scored as Stars defenseman Jani HakanpaaHe was penalized for hooking, which he committed with just 1:52 left in the third period. Hakanpaa was ejected from the penalty box following the O’Reilly goal. Heiskanen then replaced Kyrou for the delayed penalty.
With 29 seconds remaining in regulation, Kyrou scored a game-winning goal by banking the puck past Hakanpaa into the Dallas net.
O’Reilly stated, “It was just mayhem.”
Bowness stated that the Stars deserved better from their efforts on the road in St. Louis. “Broken stick, penalty kill, second goal is in our favour. He said that those were the breaks of the match. “We played a tremendous hockey game. We deserve a lot more than that. We did. Our third road game was played in just three and a quarter days. We fought hard. We deserve a lot more than that.”
Bowness was very proud of the St. Louis goalie Jordan Binnington(26 saves) to keep them in the game. He gave them the chance to win. He stated that they used the breaks at the end to win.
Dallas lost its four-game winning streak. This was St. Louis’ fourth win in five.
