NHL Stadium Series game between Washington Capitals & Carolina Hurricanes will have fans allowed to be on the field in February

NHL will allow fans on the field to enjoy an outdoor game for the first-ever time. Carolina Hurricanes Host the Washington Capitals Next February, Raleigh’s Carter-Finley Stadium.

Overflow seating will be available in the stadium’s end areas for general admission. As the NHL attempts recreate scenes from horse racing’s Preakness Stakes and auto races, fans will be allowed to watch the game on the field.

Protective netting will protect the fans from flying pucks. They will be positioned around the stage, where music acts from the NHL will perform prior to the game and during intermission.

February 18th is the scheduled date for the Stadium Series game. This will be the Capitals’ fourth outdoor game and the Hurricanes’ first outdoor game. The NHL Stadium Series was originally set for the Hurricanes on February 20, 2021. But, due to safety and health concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was canceled.

It is one of the two outdoor games that the NHL will play in the 2022-23 regular seasons. It is the Boston Bruins Fenway Park will host the 2023 Winter Classic against the backdrop of the Pittsburgh Penguins Jan.
