Panini Flawless triple Logoman LeBron James Panini card sells at $2.4 million plus buyer’s Premium

Drake, a rapper and NBA superstar spent $200,000 trying to find the 2020-21 Panini Flawless Three Logoman LeBron James The card was numbered one-of-1 and sold at $2.4 Million plus buyer’s Premium on Saturday night at the Goldin collectibles market.

The most sought-after cards in the hobby are Logoman cards, which feature the NBA logo cut from a player’s jersey. Panini’s 2020-21 Flawless Hobby box (with 10 cards) is currently on sale for around $15,000 and includes five Triple Logoman card sets. All are numbered one of a kind: Draymond Green/Stephen Curry/Klay Thompson, Anthony Edwards/LaMelo Ball/Tyrese Haliburton, Jayson Tatum/Luka Doncic/Zion Williamson Giannis Antetokounmpo/Kevin Durant/Stephen Curry.

The fifth LeBron James card, which just sold, is embedded with NBA logo patches from “game worn/used” James jerseys: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat Los Angeles Lakers.

“Usually, it’s the older cards that are valuable,” Ken Goldin said to the Associated Press. He is the founder and executive chair of Goldin. “But, there has never been a card so popular before it was even pulled out of a pack.”

Multiple outlets claimed that the James Card would break all-time records for modern sports cards and basketball cards. These records were held, uncoincidentally by an 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite LeBron James autograph parallel. This autograph was numbered out 23 and sold for $5.2 Million at PWCC Marketplace in April 2021.

Some thought that the Triple Logoman would challenge the record-setting T206 Honus Wagner card, which sold for $6.606 million in August. However, the market has since slowed down from its pandemic-aided boom. (An Exquisite LeBron RPA parallel was also sold tonight with Goldin — though it received a lower grade by Beckett Grading Services — and it went for $2.1million.

James made headlines in July 2020 after one of those RPA parallels broke a record for a basketball-card, selling at an auction for $1.845m. He then remarked that “a couple of these exact ones” was his own.
