For the 2022-23 season, Bath has signed Piers Francis, a fly-half from Premiership rivals Northampton.

Francis, who plays at the centre, joined Saints in 2017, and has played 64 games for the club.

The 31-year-old made England’s debut that year, and he played at the 2019 World Cup. There, he collected his last nine international caps.

Francis began his career in New Zealand, and he had spells at Edinburgh and Doncaster before joining the Saints.

Francis stated, “With the current players and those that have been recruited it is an exciting new start for me.”

“The Rec is a great place to play. You can feel the energy from the fans every time you go.” I cannot wait for the opportunity to play in front them and support the club’s progress.
