Robert Sarver claims he’s in the beginning of selling NBA’s Phoenix Suns as well as WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury

Robert Sarver announced Wednesday that he is selling both the NBA’s and the NBA’s. Phoenix Suns WNBA Phoenix Mercury franchises.

Sarver released a statement Wednesday saying that “I am starting the process of looking for buyers for the Suns, and Mercury.”

Sarver was suspended for one year and fined $10 million for making racist and misogynist comments after the NBA released last week its findings from a ten-month-long investigation into workplace abuse allegations made during Sarver’s tenure as managing partnership of the Suns. The investigation spanned more than two decades.

An ESPN story published in November 2021, which detailed allegations of racism during Sarver’s 17-year tenure in his role as owner of the NBA, prompted the NBA to launch an investigation.

Sarver, a man who believes in atonement and forgiveness, said Wednesday in a statement. “I anticipated that the commissioner’s suspension of one year would give me the opportunity to focus, make amends, remove my personal scandal from the teams I love so much.

“But it is now painfully obvious that this is not possible in today’s unforgiving climate. That any good I did, or could do, is outweighed in my past statements. To that end, I am now seeking buyers to purchase the Suns and Mercury.
