After injuring herself in the match against Australia, Chloe Rollie (Scotland) has been ruled-out of the Rugby World Cup.

The Exeter Chiefs’ back, at 27 years old, has had successful surgery. She will continue to be with the team in New Zealand this week while she recovers.

Since her 2015 Six Nations debut, she has been capped in 52 caps and scored 15 tries.

Scotland lost 14-12 against Australia After leading 12-0 at the half-time.

Bryan Easson’s side must now beat New Zealand Saturday to maintain their prospects of progress.

Rollie has been a fixture in Scotland since she was introduced to midfield.

She was the player of the match against Italy and Wales in the 2017 Six Nations, and her loss is a major blow to Scotland as they prepare for the highly-favorite host nation.

Rollie was born in Edinburgh and played for Jedburgh Melrose, Murrayfield Wanderers and Jedburgh before moving on to Lille, Harlequins, then Exeter.
