Dragic is quickly becoming the most popular player in the buyout marketplace. Concurrent teams believe that he has stayed in top condition in South Florida working out and can contribute immediately to a new team.
The Spurs traded Dragic for him on Thursday and received a 2022 protected first-round pick as part of the deal.
Dragic, age 35, is a great postseason player and has a knack for quickly taking on leadership roles in teams. Dragic played five games with the Raptors this season, before the Raptors mutually agreed to allow Dragic to work out outside the team until a trade could occur. Dragic made stops in Phoenix (Houston) and Miami during his career. This included an All-NBA selection on the third team and the league’s Most Improved Players award in 2014.
