Saracens complete £32m takeover deal with consortium of investors

A consortium including South African World Cup-winning former captain Francois Pienaar has completed a £32m takeover of Saracens.

Kimono House Limited bought a “controlling share” in the group, which now owns the club as well as their home StoneX Stadium.

Also, the group includes Saracens Mavericks’ netball team.

Nigel Wray (club owner for 26 years) still owns a “significant minority shareholding”.

The club announced the takeover in OctoberIt was confirmed that it was completed on Wednesday.

Pienaar, the Springboks’ champion at the 1995 World Cup, was a Saracens player coach who made 44 appearances.

The six-person group also includes Marco V. Masotti (owner of South Africa’s Sharks rugby club).

Others investors include Nick Leslau, Neil Golding and Paul O’Shea.
