Scotland: New Zealand and Australia will visit Murrayfield as part of the Autumn Nations Series

In their 2022 Autumn Nations Series Series, which opens against Australia, Scotland will take on New Zealand for the first-time in five years.

Fiji and Argentina – which visit both sides of the All Blacks – complete the opposition to Gregor Townsend’s side.

The matches will take place at Murrayfield starting on 29 October.

Townsend said that New Zealand's game is being “excitedly anticipated” by both players and supporters.

“We are really looking forward to playing them after missing the chance on two occasions in the past two years because of Covid,” said the Scotland coach.

“The Autumn Nations Series offers us a great opportunity to take on some leading southern hemisphere teams in front of our supporters, as we seek to improve ahead of next years's Six Nations Series”

Scotland has never defeated the All Blacks. They are currently ranked third in the world rankings. won 22-17 at MurrayfieldTheir previous visit was five years ago.

After a victory of 15-13 last November, Townsend's men seek a fourth consecutive win over Australia. They are being led by Dave Rennie, former head coach for the Glasgow Warriors.

When they faced Fiji last year, the Scots scored eight tries. Tommy Seymour's hat trick was a highlight of that 54-17 victory. Argentina will be Townsend's opponent as they host Townsend's team in a three match series.
